Weipa is the gateway to the Western Cape, Cape York. This area is renowned for its variety of species to target and long extensive flats and beaches allowing you to sight cast to that fish of a lifetime. The western coastline of Cape York lines the Gulf of Carpentaria. It is a largely inaccessible part of the country and we aim to take our guests to destinations where no one else ventures.

A week long trip with us will see you fish the freshwater reaches of the remote river systems along the Western Cape, Gulf of Carpentaria, through their mangrove reaches, to the estuaries and coastal flats, and the near and far reefs. You will primarily target the famous barramundi but you will most likely encounter a number of other saltwater estuary species such as threadfin and blue salmon, mangrove jack and black jewfish. Venturing offshore, Fingermark, Coral Trout, Bluebone, Queenfish, Spanish mackerel, longtail tuna, Giant Trevally, Golden Trevally, and that icon sportfish the giant herring are abundant in the warm tropical waters that adjoin the Western, Cape York coastline.
