The options for the day are endless – after breakfast you can head off to target that 1m+ Barra you’ve always wanted, then head offshore casting to schools of crashing pelagics. Come back for a leisurely lunch or soak up some of the motherships air conditioning. Then head back out and explore the many rivers and inshore flats or casting amongst mangrove shorelines and shallow areas catching Barramundi, Threadfin Salmon, Mangrove Jack etc.

Weipa, the gateway to Cape York’s Western Cape, is a paradise for anglers and Eclipse FNQ Charters operates fishing charters between March-November each year. The best time to come is anytime you can make it during these months! Traditionally there are two peak fishing periods per year, the “Run-off” (March-June) and the “Build-up” (September- early December). Note that Barra specific fishing takes place during the season which runs Feb-October each year.
